The absence of EQ controls in the original design eliminates passive components that can diminish the raw power of the preamp, resulting in a pure and powerful tone.

The high-gain preamp of the '64 Super feeds directly into a Class A, 6V6-equipped, single-ended, 5-Watt power amp that reflects Supro's pre-war origins as one of the first American tube amp manufacturers.
