This line pays homage to the iconic Teardrop drums, striving to replicate their distinctive aesthetic, tactile experience, and rich sound. SONOR has harnessed its extensive expertise in contemporary drum construction while embracing the vintage essence, resulting in instruments that are not only visually stunning but also durable enough for today’s versatile playing styles.

Each drum in the Vintage Series features rounded bearing edges, reviving the classic 'old SONOR sound' that enthusiasts cherish. Since the introduction of the 45-degree bearing edge in 1975—which continues to be utilized in the SQ2, Prolite, and Force series—SONOR has remained committed to delivering exceptional sound quality. With the launch of the Vintage Series, drummers can now explore a diverse range of sonic possibilities that are distinctly SONOR.

Crafted from 9-ply, 6 mm cross-laminated tension-free (CLTF) Beech Shells, these drums ensure optimal resonance and sustain. The snares, toms, and floor toms are fitted with the redesigned original 2.3 mm triple-flanged steel "Superprofil" hoops from the 1950s, accentuating their vintage charm. Additionally, all SONOR lugs are equipped with the patented TuneSafe technology, effectively preventing tension rods from loosening during play. The bass drums come adorned with classic vintage-style claws and tuning wing screws, further enhancing their nostalgic appeal.

The Vintage Series offers an exceptional selection of drumheads, with Tom Toms and Floor Toms featuring Ambassador coated batter and Ambassador clear resonant heads. Snare Drums are outfitted with Ambassador coated batter and snare clear resonant heads, while the bass drums vary in size with specific head choices: 18" and 20" come with Powerstroke3 coated batter heads, and the larger 22" and 24" models are equipped with Powerstroke3 Black Dot batter heads. All bass drums are completed with Powerstroke3 Fiberskyn resonant heads, proudly showcasing the Vintage SONOR script logo.
