Sonor Meisterklasse TAKM 10 Tenor-Alto Metallophone, 19 Bars, c1–c3

The tenor-alto metallophone from Sonor's Meisterklasse line, the range built for school and conservatory Orff work. Nineteen light-alloy bars covering c1 to c3 diatonically, with the F#s and Bbs included so you can play in F and G without swapping bars. Each bar is overtone tuned, which is what gives Meisterklasse instruments their clean, singing sustain compared with the cheaper ranges.

The bars sit on flexible rubber pins rather than rigid ones, so when a student gets enthusiastic the pin flexes instead of bending or snapping. One pair of hard yarn mallets is in the box. Add the TAKM 20 chromatic box (sold separately) and the instrument becomes fully chromatic.
