A PDP Concept snare with a 20-ply maple shell and thick maple-ply wood hoops, 6.5" x 14", natural finish. Twenty plies makes it loud, focused, and dry; wood hoops take the metallic edge off rimshots and give the drum a rounder, warmer crack than the same shell with steel hoops. Together it is a fat, controlled backbeat that records easily.

DW's MAG throw-off (magnetic, one-handed on and off), True Pitch tension rods for finer tuning, and fully chromed snare wires with carbon-steel coils and brass end plates.
