Mapex Black Panther Switchblade 5.5x14 Maple Snare Drum, Aegean Burl

The Switchblade is the maple snare in Mapex's Black Panther line, 5.5" x 14". Maple gives it the balanced, all-round voice that works for anything from jazz to rock, and the single-flanged hoops (the ones with claws, like a vintage drum) keep it open, sensitive, and a little more resonant than triple-flanged or die-cast would. Ghost notes and brushes come out easily; it still cracks when you lean on it.

Aegean Burl is a blue-green burl veneer under gloss.
