A Ludwig Classic Maple snare, 5" x 14", in Lemon Oyster. Classic Maple is Ludwig's 3-ply maple/poplar shell with reinforcement rings, the wood shell behind decades of records: warm, open, and with a wide tuning range, from a fat low crack to a tight high pop. The 5" depth is the crisp, articulate one: quick response, easy to tune high. 2.3 mm triple-flanged hoops keep it a little more open and sensitive than a die-cast hoop would.

Lemon Oyster is a yellow-and-cream swirl wrap in the mid-century Ludwig style.
