A 22" flat goatskin, cut to fit LP djembes. This is a raw, unmounted skin, not a pre-mounted head: you soak it, stretch it over the shell, and tuck or clamp it into the ring, the traditional way. That is more work than dropping a synthetic head on, but goatskin is what gives a djembe its real bass-and-slap contrast. LP selects and quality-controls the skins, so you are not gambling on a bag from a market stall.
