Dream Cymbals DMFE22 Dark Matter Flat Earth Ride, 22"

The 22" Flat Earth is the crown of Dream's Dark Matter series: a completely flat ride, no bell and no bow, re-fired to darken it. Flat rides are dry and articulate, every note defined, and the Dark Matter treatment adds a trashy, smoky edge to the stick sound with a low, complex wash underneath when you lean in. A jazz and low-volume ride with more character than most.

Dark Matter is Dream's re-fired series: each cymbal is micro-lathed by hand, then put back in the fire, which darkens the bronze and roughens the surface. The result is dry, dark, and trashy in the good sense, with a fast decay. Hand-made, so no two are identical.
