Description

1.jpg"UNPARALLELED"

For those seeking the drop-tuning benefits of an RGD, while also wanting a more refined, ergonomic feel, this multi-scale Custom Shop marvel is this ticket. The most interesting feature of this instrument is its shorter 22”-23” multi-scale design. The body is also scaled down to proportionally match the shorter scale length. The combination of these features makes this RGD-7 the ideal extended-range 7 string for home studio work where quarters may be cramped, or for fans of multi-scale designs that prefer a more compact instrument. Other exciting, pro-level features include a beautiful Hawaiian Koa top, EMG 808 pickups, and a top-quality Ebony fretboard. It’s a highly specialized, custom guitar that’s significantly scaled down in size, but comes fully stocked with professional-grade quality and high-octane, modern tones. While it is certainly scaled down, it’s absolutely massive when it comes to the sound and exquisite craftsmanship it delivers.

DEEP DIVE

Not only does this instrument feature a stunning Koa top but the top itself is also extra thick, coming in right at around an inch in depth. The thickness of the top supplies an additional touch of top-end brightness and also adds Koa figuring around the entire perimeter of the body.

EMG 808 PICKUPS

An inherently modern pickup design, the EMG 808 is engineered to eliminate any lack of clarity in the lower strings of extended-range instruments, while also preserving balance and articulation with higher notes. These pickups feature wide aperture coils which are ideal for extended range, multi-scale guitars.

PRACTICING SCALES

Utilizing this less conventional 22”-23” multi scale-length design still allows players to benefit from even string tension and improved left hand ergonomics, but reducing the span of the neck allows for wider interval jumps between frets and more comfortable playing when in tight studios, stages, or practice spaces.
